Paper scraps
2024
Chamber opera
Libretto: Emma Rehumäki
Director: Maximilian Reisinger
Premiere: July 2024, Munich
Summary: Four passers-by gather on a canal in late autumn. But the canal threatens to overflow if nobody does anything. At the same time, a love affair blossoms between the soprano and the tenor. Their relationship is caught between devotion and self-destruction. When the tenor fails to heed the soprano's warnings, the situation threatens to escalate. The soprano suffers more and more from the tenor's exploitative love and finally has to break away. This forces the tenor to jump into the canal. The passers-by observe what is happening but are unable or unwilling to intervene. In a moment of reconciliation, the soprano reflects on his feelings, but has to leave the tenor. Sunk deep in the water, the tenor finally realises the consequences of his actions. But it is far too late. The tragedy culminates in a symbolic moment when the canal overflows. The passers-by utter their last words until the water sweeps them into the depths. Only the soprano can slowly recover and look to the future. ‘Papierschnipsel’ is an exploration of the relationship between man and nature, embedded in a poetic and emotional performance on the opera stage.

Prologue of the future bodies
2023
for soprano, alto, tenor, 2 actors, tenor saxophone in B-flat, percussion, double bass, piano
Libretto: Emma Rehumäki
Director: Joël-Conrad Hieronymus
Premiere: July 2023, Munich
Summary: What would you do for a perfect body? Would you have your bones broken for it? This play ventures a look into the future of body worship. Instead of pink, the protagonist Mindy's world looks grey. Disaster is constantly criticising her appearance, and her boyfriend's electric shocks don't help. Mindy wants to escape the fate of being forced to conform, but finds herself back at square one. Can she manage to escape the optimisation madness this time?
Summary: Which sides of ourselves do we prefer not to show to the outside world? Everyone has something they'd rather keep to themselves. It's safe there. No one can attack you. We keep things to ourselves - the not so nice sides of ourselves. But how can you protect yourself from your own voices? How many voices are there inside you? And which of them is right? B has many voices. Perhaps even too many. Especially when they compete against each other...

Time is measured in minutes or seconds, together they form a circle. Summary: Time can be measured. In my piece ‘Zeitmaschen’, 7 main tones take on the function of a net (mesh), which is projected onto certain tonal events. This net is conceived as a circle.
